Jeremy Kalamarides, D.O., Ob/Gyn
Dr. Jeremy Kalamarides applies the state-of-the-art medical science of NaProTECHNOLOGY™ to treat women for infertility and a full range of gynecologic health issues. He has special interests in the treatment of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), recurrent miscarriage, minimally invasive surgery, and the diagnosis and treatment of infertility
. Dr. Kalamarides is highly experienced in the practice of natural fertility, having trained for years directly with Dr. Thomas Hilgers, who pioneered the Creighton Model FertilityCare System™.
In addition to comprehensive gynecologic care throughout a woman’s lifetime, Dr. Kalamarides
provides complete obstetrical care for women during their pregnancy. He is devoted to offering
the most personal service and highest standard of care for his patients and their growing families through labor and delivery as well as postpartum care.
Dr. Kalamarides has hospital privileges at Seton Medical Center, where he is a member of the
Seton Ob/Gyn Ethics Board. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Travis
County Medical Society and the Catholic Physician’s Guild of Central Texas. Dr. Kalamarides also serves on the Diocese of Austin Pro-Life Advisory Council and is a member of the Board of Directors of The John Paul II Life Center.
Dr. Kalamarides is a graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania and completed his osteopathic internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology
at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York. Prior to medical school, Dr. Kalamarides spent four years as a research assistant and Fertility Care Practitioner for the Creighton Model Fertility Care System™ at the Pope Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction in Omaha, Nebraska.
Dr. Kalamarides and his wife, Heather, are thoroughly enjoying the life and culture of Central Texas with their four children.
Diana Arteaga, RN, MSN, FNP-C
Diana Arteaga works under the direction of Dr. Kalamarides to provide both gynecological and obstetric care to our Vitae Clinic patients. Diana provides well woman exams,and utilizes NaProTechnology™ in treating premenstrual syndrome and helping to correct the effects of polycystic ovarian disease. She also assists Dr. Kalamarides seeing routine obstetrical patients in the office. In addition to being a nurse practitioner, Diana is a Creighton Model FertilityCare™ practitioner and a Natural Family Planning medical consultant. “I’m thrilled to be at the Vitae Clinic where I can be a real woman’s advocate,” said Diana. “This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to practice NaProTechnology™ in a clinical setting. It’s beautiful the way NaPro provides treatments that cooperate completely with a woman’s reproductive system.”
Prior to joining the Vitae Clinic, Diana spent eight years working as a family nurse practitioner providing acute, chronic and wellness care to both adults and children. Since 2007, she also has served couples as the Director and as a Practitioner (teacher) of the Creighton Model Fertility Care System at the Austin Fertility Care Center. As an RN for 13 years, Diana had a broad range of nursing experience including providing prenatal, postpartum and newborn care to patients. Diana is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where she earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing. She earned her certification as a family nurse practitioner from UT in 2004. Like Dr. Kalamarides, she received her training in NaProTechnology™ and the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System at the Pope Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction in Omaha, Nebraska. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners, The American Academy of FertilityCare™ Professionals and FertilityCare™ Centers of America. Having grown up in Mission, Texas in a bilingual Spanish-English home, Diana is fluent in both Spanish and English. She and her husband, Baldemar, have four children and two grandchildren.
Heather Kalamarides, MAT, FCP
Creighton Model FertilityCare™ Pracitioner
Heather Kalamarides, MAT, FCP, is an experienced practitioner of the Creighton Model FertilityCare System™ and provides women and couples with quality educational instruction in learning to chart their cycles of fertility and infertility. Heather is a board member of The John Paul II Life Center and is affiliated with the Austin Fertility Care Center.
Heather completed her Fertility Care Practitioner training through the Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska and is honored to provide support and education to her clients. Because of her expertise in Creighton Model charting and her background in science, Heather is often seen assisting patients and answering questions regarding timing of tests and NaProTECHNOLOGY™ treatments. Heather holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio, and a Master’s Degree in Teaching from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Heather and her husband, Jeremy, have used natural family planning for their entire marriage.
Doula, Medical Assistant
Christine, a labor support doula for over 14 years, is passionate about helping to make each woman’s birth experience a truly positive, empowering and memorable event. As the mother of seven children, Christine brings her vast personal knowledge to enhance the support she provides for Vitae Clinic clients.
In addition to providing labor delivery and support, Christine teaches childbirth education classes for the Vitae Clinic. She holds degrees from both the University of Toronto and Brock University in Ontario, Canada. Christine has studied the principals of labor support at Conestoga College, and childbirth education through the International Childbirth Education Association. Christine is inspired by her work at the Vitae Clinic and its unique focus on natural women’s healthcare: “Working with the Vitae Clinic, where women are able to find wonderful and compassionate care without compromising their religious ethics, is truly a dream come true!”
At the Vitae Clinic, Andrea assists Dr. Kalamarides with patient care, clinic procedures, and answering patients’ questions. She also serves as a translator for our Spanish-speaking patients. Andrea has extensive medical experience and training from her native country of Mexico where she worked at The American British Cowdray Hospital in Mexico City. In 1999, her husband's company transferred them to Austin where she became a full-time wife and mother.
Andrea is fluent in English, Spanish and German and initially came to the Vitae Clinic as a volunteer translator. However, her relationship with the clinic soon blossomed into a medical assistant position. The unique environment of the Vitae Clinic brought Andrea back into the medical field. "I love the way each patient is treated as an individual, with dignity and respect," she says. "I also like the natural way of treating patients. NaProTECHNOLOGY works with a woman's body to maximize her body's fullest potential. It's beautiful!"
Receptionist, Billing Assistant
Joy has been working in the medical office field for over 20 years and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Administration from the University of Phoenix. Joy has found her professional calling at the Vitae Clinic. “I truly believe in the mission and philosophy of Dr. Kalamarides. The environment here is one of family. There is a respect for the patient that I haven’t really seen in many practices. Understanding the patients’ needs is also very important here.” Joy lives in Austin with her husband and their daughter.
